What are you prepared to give up, in order to get you want?
It’s an important question and one of three questions that I ask anyone I’m working with. Whether you are starting to build a new ‘Forever’ business with me or you are looking for guidance about your fitness, these are the 3 most important questions I’ll ask.
- What do you want?
- When do you want it?
- What are you prepared to give up, in order to get what you want?
Inherent in this cluster of questions is, how much do you really want it? The answer soon becomes clear when the response to the last killer question is given.
As many of you know, I’ve been supporting Matt Turnbull achieve his goal of completing 7 Ironman distances in 7 days last month. He knew what he wanted, he knew the date he was going to achieve it and was clear 12 months ago exactly what he was and wasn’t prepared to sacrifice in order to get there.
I love this picture of Matt with his children on the finish line of ‘The Outlaw 2017’ race. https://www.facebook.com/OutlawTriathlon/ Although by many professional triathletes schedules, 20 hours training per week is modest, 3 hours per day still requires a massive amount of compromise.
A huge well done Matt, you are an inspiration to so many. Matt’s children have not only got their dad back now …. but they also know he is Superman Ironman!
